Committed to a
greener world
We work with a single goal in mind:
to make the world a better place.
This is
WHAT we do.
Our driving force is to be able to shape and influence change. We want to give back more than we take. Therefore, we are not taking the easy route but instead, calibrating our focus and practices on what is right for our current climate.
Water
100 million fewer microplastic fibres in our seas

Problem
Microplastics (plastic fragments less then 5 mm long) pollute oceans, kill thousand of animal species and end up in our food chain. Washing synthetic garments is one of the main causes behind microplastic dispersal.
Solutions
Trerè Innovation water filtration plant catches 425,000 microplastic fibres every day. An innovative treatment for our products will reduce the production of microplastics by 20%.
Results
100 milion fewer microplastic fibres in our seas every year, the equivalent of a 382 km long thread connecting Asola to Munich.
Air
We save 410 tonnes of Co2

Problem
The growing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is causing the planet to heat up with grave consequences on human life.
Solutions
100% of the energy we consume at our HQ in Asola comes from renewable sources.
Results
Our studies show this allows us to reduce our CO2 emissions to a minimum, saving 410 tonnes every year.
Land
We recycle 110 tonnes of waste

Problem
Four billion tonnes of waste are produced in the world every year with serious implication on the environment and human health.
Solutions
60% of the waste we produce (wood, paper, plastic and textile fibres) is recycled.
Results
We recycle 110 tonnes of material every year, which is equivalent in weight to over 60 cars. In doing so, we are committed to promoting a circular economy.
This is
how we do in detail.
Creating innovations that solve environmental problems sustainably.
With our innovation and sustainability departments, we develop designs, materials and technologies that solve problems holistically. We don’t just concentrate on recycling or reducing CO2 in our production. We create our own innovative solutions that can serve as role models for other companies and brands. Because in order to improve something, we all have to work together, share and multiply well-functioning solutions.
Made of materials that
perform, naturally.
Reducing our environmental impact has been a top priority since day one. Natural fibers are renewable, and inherently biodegradable. Replacing petroleum-based materials with natural ones, and inventing alternatives that don’t yet exist is one of our daily challenge.

- 100% Bio-Based;
- 25% less CO2 than polyamides;
- low water consumption;
- 25% lighter than polyester;
- fast drying;
- incredibly elastic.
This fibre is made for the next generation. A generation when it is not enough being 100% natural in order to be sustainable. Natex® has no adverse effect on the human or animal or food chain. It is made from castor oil seeds, they are not a food source and grow in dry region. On top of it, Natex® is full of performance. Incredibly light and elastic and absolutely fast drying. A game changer for every sportswear product.
Organic
cotton
WITH RESPECTS TO
OUR ENVIRONMENT…
…we do not use virgin, non-organic cotton.
That means:
- - no pesticides, insecticides and toxic chemicals;
- - no genetically modified seeds;
- - low environmental impact;
- - 91% less water consumption;
- - 62% less energy consumption;
- - softer than traditional cotton but more durable.
Merino
wool

Merino wool is famous for its minimal weight and seductively soft feeling on the skin. UYN further optimizes these outstanding material characteristics through a special manufacturing technology that combines merino and FIBRESIST to achieve a pleasantly soft and a quick drying result.
MULESING FREE: We only use Merinowool from South Africa, where the cruel practice of mulesling (a process during which parts of a sheep’s bends are cut off) is illegal.
Make Waste a thing
of the past
MICROPLASTICS
DID YOU KNOW?
382 KILOMETERS
Our water filtration plant catches over 100 million microplastic fragments in a year, the equivalent of a 382 km long thread connecting Asola to Munich.
MICROPLASTICS
fragments of less than 5mm in length are one of the biggest causes of pollution to our oceans and responsible for the deaths of thousands of animal species.
NO WASTE
Not only do we prevent micro plastics from dispersing into the water, we recycle them by putting them back into the production cycle: See —> AIRNEST
Our waste...
When we at UYN produce a garment we produce a very small amount of waste (cuttings, fibres … ) which in one year becomes large: 29 tonnes.
Nevertheless, we use our advanced filtering system to collect even the smallest microparticles.

…is fully recycled…
Our textile scraps do not become environmentally harmful waste, but new resources. We fully recycle them in cooperation with a specialised company.
…to create innovation.
Our latest innovation is called AIRNEST.
We use our collected textile waste to create this high-performance material for padding jackets and shoes.

Airnest
UYN’s technicians have created AIRNEST, an unique material perfect for the padding of the garments. Thanks to its micro-structure with air nests, obtained from the special intertwining of fibers, AIRNEST is able to trap more warm air than traditional synthetic padding and to create a layer with high thermal insulating power.

what we do next
MISSION 2022
A “TOTAL GREEN” SUPPLY CHAIN
Our commitment to sustainability has received international recognition. Trerè Innovation was among the first companies in Europe to obtain the SteP (Sustainable Textile Production) certification by Oeko-Tex®. This guarantees that all our textile processes for manufacturing socks, base layers and sportswear are sustainable. In March 2019, that certification was confirmed as a level 3 - the highest achievable.

From 2021, our products comply with the standards of the Global Recycle Standard, the international organization that attests the use of yarns and fabrics coming from recycled materials and the respect of environmental and social criteria in all the production chain. This confirms our efforts towards a circular economy model based on sustainable production and consumption that promotes the reuse of materials.

Our goal by 2022 is to help our suppliers meet the Oeko-Tex® standard so that they too will be awarded the Made in Green by Oeko-Tex® certification - an indicator of the utmost respect for the environment.
