La Ruta del Condor - Omar Di Felice

La Ruta del Condor - Omar Di Felice

A 7,000km journey through South America, and beyond every limit he'd set before

Some expeditions are about conquering a route. This one was about something harder to map.

In February 2026, Omar Di Felice set off from Machu Picchu on his first major expedition since his injury a year ago: La Ruta del Condor. 7,000 kilometres. 52,000 metres of elevation. 44 days. Solo.

Through the Andean passes of Peru and Bolivia, the surreal salt flats of Uyuni, the Atacama desert, the endless Ruta Nacional 40 across Argentina, and deep into the winds of Patagonia. All the way to Punta Arenas, at the edge of the world.

Somewhere along the way, between the altitude sickness that forced a four-day stop in La Paz and the Patagonian gusts that brought him down once, he found something harder to measure than kilometres: the quiet knowledge of when to stop, when to push, and when the two are the same thing.

For Omar and for us, wellbeing is not only what happens after performance. It's what makes performance possible — a state you can only reach through a continuous dialogue with your body, and through everything that supports it.

"One of the unwritten but fundamental rules to carry with you: never quit at the end of a day when you've pushed yourself to exhaustion.

Rule number one is to sleep on it. Set the bike aside, relax, and rest.

Because the next day — with a more rested body and a mind that's a little calmer, a little less weighed down by the stress of the day before — you're able to see things a bit more clearly."
