An ultra runner, a philosopher and a dental technician, all in the same person
There is a version of the trail running story that gets told often: the athlete who was always going to be an athlete, who structured their life around it early and never looked elsewhere. Alessandro's is not that story, and it is more interesting for it.
He studied philosophy, which he says helps him take on the climbs without ever losing clarity of thought. Anyone who has been deep into an ultra will recognise what he means. Beyond a certain point the body has already made its objections known, and what remains is whatever the mind can still do with the situation.
He works as a dental technician, a trade built on precision, patience and tolerances measured in fractions of a millimetre. It acts as a rational, technical counterweight to his more spiritual side, and the two coexist in him without apparent friction.
In 2026, at his first ever appearance at a race on the circuit, he finished second in the 100k at Tor des Géants.

Why we wanted him
We were not looking for a results sheet. Second place at Tor des Géants on a debut is remarkable, but we would have been interested regardless.
What drew us to Alessandro is that he arrived at our products from the same direction we did. He cares about what things are made of. The natural fibres we work with, and the technologies we build around them, were the reason he approached us rather than something he had to be persuaded to accept afterwards. He tests our kit at the far end of what it can do and tells us honestly when something needs to change, which is considerably more useful to us than agreement.
It also matters that he is entirely himself about all of it. Anyone who has spent time with Alessandro knows that he carries a genuinely extraordinary result the way most people carry an ordinary Tuesday, almost without noticing. That is not modesty as a performance. It is simply how he is.
